I have really be getting into the Chicago-based, Plain White T's. I have had several near all-nighters (work is some kinda crazy right now) over the last few nights and this song has been keeping me company. Let me know what you think...

Seth Godin has a great post today on ’Toxic Employees.’ Seth identifies such individuals as sharing two common characteristics:
1. They confuse "How can I help this prospect/customer?" with "How can I get rid of this person and get back to work?"
2. They confuse, "How can I have a better day by treating this person with a great deal of respect?" with "Why isn't this person treating me with the respect I deserve?"
In related news, I recently acted on a really difficult decision fitting Seth’s description #2 to a tee. Having to look past friendship, I decided to ...
Tonight, walking back from the gym I was greeted by a 15-person Jazz band playing in Dupont Circle. The guys were awesome -- big horns, rhythm and sweet beats. But the best part was they weren't okay with the crowd simply watching - they demanded more. At certain points the guys would walk into the crowd and pull people out to dance. Sure enough, within a few minutes there was an all-out dance party on the streets of DC spanning all ages, races and genders. It rocked.
So my question: why do social media sites not take a more active approach ...
Loren Feldman from 1938 Media has a killer video out responding to "What Blogging is All About." Specifically Loren sides with Dave Winer, the inventor of RSS, who has been vocal in his disgust over the evolution of RSS. Loren, then goes on a diatribe on 'what blogging is all about,' by calling-out Fred Wilson - an investor who personally describes blogging as his way to "win friends and influence people."
Obviously there is more to blogging than Dale Carneige speak, right? Of course! Fred also makes money off his blog, evidenced by his recent post done in audio format to ...
The short answer is no ’“ at least under certain circumstances. Out-Law.com recently featured leading intellectual property lawyer Catrin Turner who had the following to say on the matter’
"If a social networking site is used to hold any information which relates to your employment, if that information is prepared in the course of your employment you are dealing with company property," said Turner.
"If [the employer] can argue that you have created something and it's in the course of your employment, it's irrelevant where it's stored because the law doesn't look at where it's stored, the law looks ...
Dammit!
I really didn’t want to post anything new until I completed my blog re-design but there is just too much good stuff going on.
Recently, I have been doing a lot of thinking about the intersection of online and offline interactions. A couple days ago an event happened here in DC that simply blew me away. If you have not yet read the Washington City Paper expose on Late Night Shots, you simply must.
Late Night Shots is an invite-only social network that has been covered by the likes of TechCrunch, but is relatively small and un-advanced in stature. What’s really interesting ...
I have been hammered with work lately, but am now 'officially' four weeks from finally being done with my MBA!
However due to my current workload, the slow summer season and lack of great insights, I am going to take some time to re-design my blog.
I'll be back soon and better than ever...

I'm taking a few days off from blogging to enjoy the outdoors.
But, here's something pretty cool...
If you count the number of chirps made by a cricket in 14 seconds and then add 38, you will the have the temperature in Fahrenheit (source).
I see nothing but potential between these two companies. If LinkedIn is in fact moving toward an IPO, they could also stand some buzz helping to drive up that long-term potential/valuation. Twitter is in a good acquisition stage from the standpoint of an acquirer because with the looming launch of Pownce (the Kevin Rose brainchild) Twitter’s market share has been threatened. Pownce’s impact is likely to shake-up Twitter’s current dominant market positioning. In other words, Twitter needs to make some moves.
Why Twitter?
Well the idea behind LinkedIn Answers is cool, but not functional enough. What would REALLY be sharp ...
