Are You Impacting Revenues?

I once had a professor who believed that if you are not directly impacting revenues at your company, you should find another job. For most companies, revenues result from two things: sales and marketing. Maybe if you are the lead product developer, or primary service provider you also directly impact revenues — but not always. In the world of 9 to 5 jobs, you need to get yourself as close to the revenue cycle as possible. If you want the company to think of you as a long-term investment, you must figure out how to make yourself essential to the firm’s lifeblood. By doing so, you greatly increase your monetary worth and ability to leverage your position to achieve future freedoms.

I think most people are not willing to work in the position of impacting a company’s revenue is because of the word – “FEAR”

Company’s owner always wanted to have better revenue every month. They will push the managers or push they push the sales and marketing staff directly. Some demands from them are ridiculous and they want more the next month even they have a breakthrough results in the current month.

People simply just want more and if the sales and revenue are not going up. Sales and marketing staff are the one who get the blames or out of the job. People definitely fear this happens to them.

But taking those jobs train ourself. We can setup our own company if we train under these jobs and people who have a higher income in a company are mostly sales and marketing people.

Enjoy your post and thanks for sharing this!
