SuiteMatch Launches Marketplace for Shared Office Space

SuiteMatch appears to have launched a marketplace for shared office space in New York City. NYC startups could surely use just such a service! Currently, users can list spaces for free as well as search the listings for free. There are 22 listings with prices from the $500′s-$5,000 per month. SuiteMatch is a great service, but the trick will be whether or not they can spread awareness of their brand and website to the point that folks outside of other startups will create listings. Also — this is New York City. Unless there is some barter going on, even a low price per month is likely too high for most cash-poor startups. While there isn’t much info available on the company via Google, it appears that one of the founders is Barry Mazza of Always Water, a NYC-based design studio.

From the website:

When an individual or company with extra offices, unused workspace or empty cubicles rents or subleases to another individual or company, we call it shared workspace. Think of it as an office within an office.

Thanks for the write up, we really appreciate it! Since we launched, our membership has grown to include a nice cross-section of companies in NYC – from attorneys to design agencies to medical offices. We will be expanding SuiteMatch to Chicago and San Francisco in the next week or so.

We initially launched the service for ourselves because we were in dire need of a rental space, but couldn't afford (or need) the huge spaces that were available to us at the time. We are hoping that small start-ups or people who work from home and are experiencing a bout of cabin fever will be able to take advantage of our service.

What a cool idea. The company I work for has tons of empty space in our office building, but I doubt they would list anything on it. And they are not based in New York. But a cool idea none the less.

Love the map feature. I use this Boston retail & office space search, they have the Google maps which is cool. It must be hard in NYC with the tons of options! I heard vacancies down there were real low.

[...] Sam at LeveragingIdeas wonders if they will be able to get past just startup listings and into real open space. Frankly this is a perfect time for SuiteMatch to go after large company openings as companies potentially layoff staff and have open spaces. I’ve written before that large corporations should embrace startups in their environment and SuiteMatch could be the tool to help bring both groups together.В  [...]

It is a really nice website, and in a time when more and more people are becoming independents it is a great option. I think it is challenging however to find the right price on space for cash poor start ups. I love the idea of coworking and if my small, behind-the-times city had any coworking space I'd certainly be using it.

There is also an additional resource for businesses interested in sharing space in an effort to reduce their operating costs. That is:

    SharedBusinessSpace.com

This is a great resource for any business willing to share their office space. Any business can directly advertise excess/unused space that they would like to lease. This web site offers the ability to search for available shared space or list extra office, warhouse or any kind of business space in all major markets across the United States. The idea is to connect with a complimentary business, share costs and ideally share business referrals. Businesses can target who they want to share space with by searching specific industry categories, such as Architects, Dentists, Lawyers, Medical, and so on. Check it out!

Rumors have been circulating for a while nike air max 1 now regarding a 2010 release of the Air Jordan X (10) “Chicago,” but we have not seen any sort of confirmation in nike air max 2010 the form of catalog images or words from nike air max 95 Jordan Brand representatives. But today, we are extremely proud to present a SneakerFiles nike air max 90 exclusive confirmation that the Air Jordan X (10) will drop this month as a quickstrike release. Not just any Air Jordan 10, but rather the nike air max nl Chicago colorway with 45—the number Michael Jordan wore when he came back from retirement—on the ankle. This colorway of the AJ 10 is one of the most popular styles ever created, and will surely result in lines outside stores for days and may even cause riots. The Air Jordan X (10) “Chicago 45″ will release at only 150 sneaker stores across the United States with each retailer only receiving 23 pairs. Be sure to check out the additional photos and information after the jump!
