Social Good Startup Competition: October 2nd

feast-kitchen-social-startup-competition

I’m really excited to be participating in an awesome startup event being run in tandem with The Feast Conference.

The Feast is best thought of as a mini-TED focused on “gathering the world’s greatest innovators from across industries and society to empower, inspire and engage each other in creating world-shaking change.” Sounds like a mouthful, but last year’s talks were some of the most inspiring I’ve heard and the people attending were equally amazing (networking with smart, cool and passionate people is always fun!).

This year Michael and Jerri decided they wanted to also draw attention to great startups working to “make the world a better place” and decided to let eight startups take the stage and pitch their products/missions. There won’t be any crappy web apps here! I had the privilege of helping pick the presenting startups and securing some terrific judges (venture capitalists and angels will be present…). We’ve also got a cool concept to keep the audience engaged and provide the startups with better and more diverse feedback than they would typically get. All in all, the Kitchen Session at the Tribeca Grand is shaping up to be be a spectacular event — sign-up here if you haven’t already done so.

Finally, I have a two free tickets to give away. If you want one, please tweet me (use #feastongood), or leave a comment below explaining why you want to attend.

  • What a great idea! I'd love to attend. I'm the co-founder and CEO of Open Venture Society, a brand spanking new startup that is bootstrapping its way into this brave new world with transparency, determination and a profound thirst to learn from and support all those that are part of the solution. Social good often leads to social change, and social change is the theme for the new millenium and our new startup. Best of luck to you and I'd love to attend and find out more about your initiative!

  • Cool! What does the Open Venture Society do?
