Following emergent technologies and imagining what new possibilities they have gives foresight for the next big thing.

We imagine what future we want, then we create it.

Ah Gosh you made me remind my college days. It was really pinching us in the maths lecture to find out the greatest and lowest common denominator and all. Though I had good pick up so all my classmates use to copy from me and come to learn from me.
web design preston

thanks for the comment Leslie! Definitely true, the desire to connect is a huge thing. And I guess what am fishing for is the underlying pieces of technology people to use to establish those connections...couldn't agree more though!

The lowest common denominator is the desire to connect with other human beings. Technology has brough the world closer and closer, although it has sped things up, it has created the ability for us to reach out, create connections, bonds and as I believe Seth Godin states, tribes. Tribes who want leaders to guide them and inspire them.

Leslie

I think some common denominators are "share" and "connect". And now most people even "monetize", just like what happened to blogging.

great point Sayem. that is definitely an amazing thing...My parents have no idea how to get back in touch with former classmates, etc, let alone having kept up with them through the years. I wonder if there is something to the idea of people connecting who have a shared common experience...i.e. college vs. just a general social connection like email (i.e. google buzz)
